BASIC MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

HOW DO I JOIN?
You will need to be proposed by a current member of our Lodge. If you are new to the area, or unsure of which of your friends or co-workers are Elk members, we can assist you in the process.

WHAT ARE THE FEES?

There is a one-time application fee of $30. Membership dues are $75 per year and are payable either annually each April 1st, or semi-annually by April 1st and October 1st. Approximately 83% of your dues stay with the local Lodge to support the programs the Lodge members choose to sponsor. Only 17% of your dues goes to the State and National offices. A paid-up membership card gives you access to other lodges in South Dakota as well as those throughout the United States.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO BECOMING A MEMBER?
Once your application has been submitted, our application and election process usually takes about four to six weeks. Applicants are welcome to enjoy our Club Facilities during this interim. Upon election, you will be invited to an Initiation Ceremony. Once initiated you will join the ranks of more than one million men and women who love the joyousness of life and endeavor to contribute to it as well as to share it by the charitable work that the Elks do.
